Winter in Sault Ste. Marie isn’t all sledding and fun. A few weeks out of the season it gets so cold even the locals don’t want to go outside. So what can you do in the Soo if you can’t play outside? Lots!
Don’t want to be outside but still want to partake in winter? Lace up a pair of skates and hit the ice at any one of these three Sault Ste. Marie ice rinks. Check for open skate times on our 4 Things to do at the Ice Arenas blog.
Lace up a different pair of shoes at Dondee Lanes! You won’t strike out on fun at Sault Ste. Marie 24 lane bowling alley. Arcade games, snack bar, and full bar just rounds out the fun. Check for open bowling here. When’s the last time you were bowling?
If the little kids are bouncing off the walls venture out to Jump U.P.’s indoor bouncy house playland. Hours of fun to burn off some excess energy.
There has to be some fun for the grown-ups too! You’ll find a warm comfy spot at Superior Cafe/Bird’s Eye Outfitter where the grown-up beverages are perfect. Locally roasted coffee in the front of the house and a full bar in the back these wonderful folks can create the hot totty to warm your heart. Curl up on the couch and watch the snow fall out the window as you enjoy your beverage.
